Netflix faces some competition in the world of streaming video services. Even though the streaming behemoth remains the undisputed ruler of the streaming services, it is no longer the only major player in the field: A slew of streaming entertainment platforms, including Disney+, Hulu Plus, Paramount+, and HBO Max, have debuted in recent years, and many of them are on par with (if not better than) the streaming giant in terms of content.
Those that cater to a more niche audience, such as the horror streaming service Shudder or the foreign-language TV channel packages available through Sling TV, are even more appealing…
Below is a list of a few of the many (many) streaming services that provide extensive content but are not affiliated with Netflix.
Amazon Prime Video
HBO’s video streaming service has a lot to offer. You will always find something interesting to watch, from recent hit shows like Chernobyl to older ones like The Sopranos. Other great HBO shows worth mentioning include Westworld, Game of Thrones, and Barry. There are also several upcoming shows to get excited about. Check out a few others here.
In addition, HBO Max includes tons of additional content not found on HBO. That includes sitcoms like Friends, The Big Bang Theory, South Park, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and TV dramas like Doctor Who and Pretty Little Liars. It also has classic and current Warner Bros. movies that are not currently on the HBO cable channel. You can also stream shows from WarnerMedia’s other cable TV channels like TNT, TBS, TruTV, Adult Swim, Cartoon Network, and CNN. Finally, there are selections of movies from Criterion, along with anime from Crunchyroll and Studio Ghibli.

Tubi is without a doubt one of the best places to watch free shows online, and they also have a large selection of movies to choose from. Because it offers many of the same shows as Netflix, Tubi is often referred to as the “free alternative to Netflix.” This is a fair designation, as the service also offers a number of excellent movies and shows that you would not otherwise be able to find on either Netflix or Hulu. (“Not on Netflix” is a category on their website, which shows how proud they are of their accomplishment.)
With so much to offer, HBO’s video streaming service is a must-have. The Sopranos and Chernobyl, two recent hit shows, as well as older shows such as The Sopranos, will always provide something interesting to watch. Westworld, Game of Thrones, and Barry are just a few of the outstanding HBO shows that deserve to be mentioned. There are also several upcoming shows that you should look forward to. Take a look at a few others right here.
Furthermore, HBO Max includes a plethora of additional content that is not available on HBO. Television sitcoms like Friends, The Big Bang Theory, South Park, and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, as well as dramas like Doctor Who and Pretty Little Liars, are examples of what I’m talking about. The library also includes older and more recent Warner Bros. films that are not currently available on the HBO cable channel. Besides TNT and TBS, you can watch shows from other WarnerMedia cable TV channels such as Adult Swim and Cartoon Network. You can also watch shows from CNN. There are also selections of Criterion-produced films and anime from Crunchroll and Studio Ghibli to round out the collection.

In many ways, Hulu and Netflix are similar services. It offers thousands of hours of television shows and movies for a low monthly fee of $5.99.
Commercials, on the other hand, are a part of the Hulu experience. For an additional $11.99 per month, you can watch their shows and movies without being interrupted by commercials.
One advantage of Hulu’s offerings is that they air most current season television shows the day after they air on prime time television, whereas Netflix typically only airs episodes from previous seasons.
Hulu provides basic TV shows and movies, as well as children’s shows, sports shows, and other content; however, they are only available on one streaming device at a time.
